Eating & Drinking in Lincolnshire 2008

FOOD PIC

We are delighted to welcome you to Lincolnshire Life’s fourth ‘Eating and Drinking in Lincolnshire’ Guide.

As the original guide to eating out in the county, we believe that the enduring strength of the guide has been the broad range of venues and information included and our 2008 edition features a new section on Farm Shops around the county.

As in previous years we try to make it easy to navigate your way around the guide by dividing it up into geographical sections – Lincoln City, The Fens, The Vales, The Wolds, The Countryside and The Coast with maps indicating the extent of each area. At the back of the guide is an alphabetic index, if you know the name of the establishment you are looking for, and a subject index, listing everything from Brazilian to modern European and classic fish and chips and cream teas.

The guide is such a convenient handy size to keep in your pocket or the glove compartment of the car and is a must if you are travelling and want to find somewhere to stop for a break and a bite to eat. Lincolnshire Life has for a long time been a champion of local county food and we regularly feature producers and their stories in the magazine. We work with other county organisations including Tastes of Lincolnshire and Lincolnshire Tourism to recognise excellence and achievement in prompting the wonderful produce generated from within Lincolnshire. Each month we also feature restaurant and light bite reviews so that we can share our experience of eating out around the county with our readers.

As well as the restaurant, pub and tearoom listings, you will find details of Farmers’ Markets, the Tastes of Lincolnshire scheme, our own Taste of Excellence Cuisine Awards and Farm Shops. We are always delighted to hear from readers who also wish to share their experience of establishments who they believe deserve wider recognition.

The guide once again contains vouchers for a free bottle of house wine at participating establishments which is a great incentive to try restaurants that may be new to you.

We do hope that you enjoy ‘Eating and Drinking in Lincolnshire 2008’.
