The Land Rover Burghley Horse Trials 2010 – The Final Wrap

Equestrian - 1st November

‘Fortune favours the brave’ and there are few braver than Lenamore, winner of this year’s Land Rover Burghley Horse Trials. The little grey with a big personality threw his heart over every fence to record an emphatic and popular victory for his British-based New Zealand rider Caroline Powell.

The Gun Room - 1st November

Welcome to November’s Gun Room and hopefully you are enjoying either the sporting season or the facilities of your local gun club. Being indoors at this time of the year is especially welcome and can involve the whole family. So, while there are countless other possible gifts, have you considered buying your family membership of your local shooting club?

Equestrian - 1st November

We are well into the winter season now even if it is still technically autumn. The indoor venues come into their own and there is quite a busy programme of events in the county (and elsewhere) throughout the winter. For many the highlight though is the annual Show Jumping spectacular at Olympia with many coach parties going from Lincolnshire to London to enjoy this fantastic show. There will never be a replacement for Olympia but what are the chances of a New Year spectacular here in our county? I can just picture a marvellous event with a New Year’s Day Strauss concert to play between equestrian attractions and competitions. Anyone interested?

Homes & Gardens - 1st November

I thought it would a good opportunity to celebrate the agricultural merits of the county and to share with you a few agricultural treasures that have appeared in the saleroom over the last few years. We have sold a wide and varied selection of items relating to our county’s agricultural history and it is fascinating to see what continues to turn up.

Talk of the Town - 1st November

The Wolds-edge town of Market Rasen has been an important centre for the surrounding farming community for centuries – but the fast-paced twenty-first century has brought growing challenges.
