Lest we forget

Social Life - 1st May

25,611 Bomber Command aircrew lost their lives flying from airfields in Lincolnshire during World War Two, 46% of the Command’s losses. The memorial on the top of Canwick Hill, Lincoln marks their sacrifice, and the sterling efforts of all who served in the air and on the ground. The site overlooks Lincoln Cathedral, a major landmark for crews leaving Lincolnshire and a navigation point for those lucky enough to return.
