Come and meet the team from Lincolnshire Life

Preparations are well underway for the Lincolnshire Life marquee at this year’s Lincolnshire Show. We love to have the chance to meet in person so many of our readers and customers, so we hope to see you there! The Show will take place on Wednesday 19th and Thursday 20th June so let’s keep our fingers crossed for fair weather.

LINCOLNSHIRE BOMBER COMMAND MEMORIAL APPEAL
We are pleased to welcome to the marquee the LBCM appeal. The appeal is raising funds to build a fitting tribute to the 25,000 airmen who left Lincolnshire airfields during the Second World War never to return.
A consultation is taking place, as we go to print, for three proposed designs for the memorial which is planned for a site on Canwick Hill, Lincoln which will also include an interpretation centre. Come and talk to their team and help to make this project become a reality.

MUSIC FROM NORTH HYKEHAM JOINT SCHOOLS BAND
John Crouch and musicians from North Kesteven School and Sir Robert Pattinson Academy will be coming to sing and play for us again this year. These talented students always draw a crowd and their performances are one of the highlights of the show for us.

ALL THE FUN OF THE SHOW
This year’s annual county show will have activities for the whole family. Entertainment, animals, shopping, music, history and plenty of food
will keep everyone satisfied for the entire day.

Reflecting the agricultural roots of the Show are the horse, pony and livestock competitions, the vintage and modern machinery parade and agricultural lines filled with Lincolnshire’s farming businesses.

Trading in New Markets, a new initiative started in 2012, is back to encourage local companies to export their product further afield. A networking marquee will be sited close to the Lincolnshire Life marquee in the busy Tenth Avenue to showcase Lincolnshire’s thriving industries.

The Clydesdale Main Ring will see three new events. Katy Cropper, the only female winner of BBC TV show One Man and His Dog will give a working sheep dog display. The Discovery Zone, sponsored by Woldmarsh has a ‘From Cow to Cornet’ theme, illustrating the journey from the farm to the ice cream parlour – courtesy of Lincolnshire experts Dennett’s Ice Cream. More than 1,000 students involved in the Schools’ Challenge will be taste testing and learning the art of ice cream making, including the launch of a brand new flavour: Lincolnshire Plum Loaf.

It’s going to be an action packed couple of days so be sure to purchase your tickets well in advance and join Lincolnshire Life in celebrating this showcase event for our great county.
