The Grenadier Guards and their regimental band coloured the streets of Lincoln as they marched through the city centre with their bayonets gleaming and flags flying. Thousands of onlookers gathered to provide a heroes welcome to the 200 troops, who have been serving on Operation Herrick 11 to support security in part of Central Helmand, Afghanistan. There was a sense of emotion and pride as they paraded through to the cathedral to lay their colours.
