Good Taste Lincolnshire Autumn 2019
A warm welcome to our Autumn edition
Our writers have been out and about across the county again meeting more of the champions of our food, drink and hospitality industry. Some of the names you may already be familiar with but others are new entrepreneurs in the sector with great products and ambitions to make their mark.
Mike Webster went to Grimsby to meet the team at Docks Beers who have established the town’s only brewery, fifty years after Hewitts closed. Located in a former Mission Church, the brewery is set within a regeneration area which will see considerable change in the future. Read Mike’s feature on page 3.
Caroline Bingham was up with the lark to meet the bakers at Vine’s Bakery, the artisan bakery located on Steep Hill, Lincoln. This team are graduates of The School of Artisan Food, and led by founder Emma Vine, who is the fourth in five generations of her family to be in the industry. You can read her story on page 24.
One of the great natural spectacles of the coastline are the seals which come ashore to pup each autumn. Photographer Barbara Meyer has captured some wonderful images of these playful mammals but also reminds anyone visiting Donna Nook or any local sanctuaries to respect all boundaries and visitor notices.
Finally, Good Taste Lincolnshire would not be complete without our fantastic selection of seasonal recipes. Our thanks to chef Rachel Green who has once again inspired us with festive menus and gift ideas.
