Lincolnshire Life’s 20th Annual Food & Drink Awards
Lincolnshire Life’s Taste of Excellence Awards 2017 took place on Thursday 2nd November at The Engine Shed in Lincoln. 300 guests were welcomed from across the county’s food, drink and hospitality sectors and the spotlight was firmly on the stars of today and the talent to watch in the future.
Awards were made in fourteen categories, with guests joining in this year’s theme – Hollywood and the Oscars – bringing plenty of glitz and glamour to Lincoln for the evening. We must thank Lincs FM’s director of programming, Sean Dunderdale, who was our compere for the evening. Sean kept our guests well entertained introducing live music from Michael Courtney and The DreamBelles throughout the night. The large stage screens showed Oscar winning film clips though the decades and Scunthorpe based business Ray of Light supplied the ‘Hollywood’ illuminated letters which brought the whole theme to life. Dinner was a delicious three-course meal served by Steven Bennett, The Lincolnshire Chef and his team.
After the main course, our guest speaker Karen Jobling, CEO of Lincs and Notts Air Ambulance, gave a valuable insight into the work of the doctors and air crew. A raffle drawn on the night raised £1,600 for the charity. We would like to thank all the businesses who kindly donated prizes to help us support this fantastic cause.
Taste of Excellence is a consumer led competition which would not be possible without the help and support of our sponsors and of course customers across the county who nominate their favourite businesses and venues. Our thanks to you all.
