Taste Lincolnshire Spring 2016
Hello… As the lighter nights and warmer days approach it is wonderful to anticipate the fresh produce which will be springing up in the bountiful fields and gardens of our county. Our contributing county based chefs are experts in creating innovative dishes to tempt you to sample in their own restaurants or to cook at home. Let us know which has been your favourite once you have tried them all.The theme for our articles about producers has been The Butcher, The Baker and the Chocolate Maker and thank you to Simpsons Butchers, Myers Bakery, Café and Deli and Special Edition Chocolates for being such sports and hosting our visits.The Pink Pig, located close to Scunthorpe has long been a favourite destination for family outings and daytime and evening dining in The Restaurant next to the Farm Shop.I went to talk to Sally Jackson about the Farm’s plans for 2016 as they celebrate their 15th year in business.There are plenty of dates for your diary in our events pages but a must-see will be The Wave, the cascade of poppies which we first saw at the Tower of London as part of the commemorations for World War 1. Finally we have a directory of pubs, cafés, hotels and restaurants across Lincolnshire which are waiting to welcome you as you make the most of another splendid spring and summer in the county.Bon Appétit!
