As the spring blossoms, Lincolnshire and Newark’s favourite radio station plans to give something back to listeners.

Three months into the new year and Lincs FM has already been helping transform fortunes across the region. With Show Me The Money and the Cash Register, huge amounts of cash have been dished out to lucky listeners like Ruth in Boston, who won herself £40,000, and Carly from Lincoln, who took home £28,000! They celebrated the best way they could at the moment – Ruth with a kebab and chips at home with her husband and son, and Carly took her children for a drive-through dinner – with some bubbly for Mum on the side.

The return of home schooling saw parents and children fight for space on the dining room table, and the home printer working harder than the office coffee machine. Lincs FM shone a spotlight on some Homeschool Heroes in February, and nominations came flooding in – for teachers going above and beyond in their efforts, for single parents keeping the kids in check alongside their own work, and partners who stepped up to give their other halves a break when they needed it most. Winners included Vicky Marshall, from Springfield Primary Academy, Grimsby; Emma Harper, who works as an advanced care nurse; and Stuart Mackintosh, of Coningsby, who’s juggling working for the RAF with helping his children.

And when the kids weren’t driving you up the wall, they were making us laugh on Kids Tell Jokes! Youngsters from throughout Lincolnshire and Newark appeared on the breakfast show to tell us their best joke. Check out a selection of Lincs FM’s favourites on these pages as well as some proud youngsters with their certificates!

New for 2021 is Lincs FM’s charity campaign. Right throughout Lincolnshire and Newark, communities and families have deeply felt the impact of the pandemic, and Lincs FM’s Cash For Kids will raise funds to help those most in need. All the money raised locally is guaranteed to stay within the community to support the most vulnerable children in the area. It’s an incredible initiative to give something back to the area we all call home. Details about events and fundraising ideas will be on air very soon, complete with your favourite presenters getting involved too! We hear, to our horror, that some of them may be donning Lycra…
