The eagerly awaited MG Cyberster has been awarded Carwow’s ‘Most Anticipated New Car’ in its 2024 Car of the Year Awards. MG also earned commendations from Carwow in three categories for the MG4 EV line-up, and the ‘Brand of the Year’ prize.

Due in 2024, the all-electric Cyberster sees MG return to the two-seater sportscar market in which it made its name, but with a state-of-the-art infotainment offering and eye-catching design.

Mat Watson, chief content officer at Carwow, commented: “The Cyberster is exactly the car we’ve all hoped for from MG – a brand riding the crest of the EV wave like almost no other. The electric two-seater sports car looks fantastic and the performance figures reckon 0-60 in three seconds could be on. We’re all very excited to get behind the wheel in 2024.”

As well as the Cyberster’s victory, the MG4 EV was also ‘Highly Commended’ in three categories: ‘Urban Living’, ‘Outstanding EV’ and – with the MG4 XPOWER – ‘Smart Spender’ awards.

Finally, MG rounded off a successful Carwow Car of the Year Awards 2024 programme with a ‘Highly Commended’ endorsement in the ‘Brand of the Year’ category. The commendation highlights the achievements MG has delivered this year, having updated its core electric line-up during that time, as well as launching performance and extended range versions of the popular MG4 EV – which won the Carwow Car of the Year 2023 outright title last year.

Guy Pigounakis, commercial director at MG Motor UK, said: “We are delighted that Carwow considers the beautiful and technologically advanced Cyberster its ‘Most Anticipated’ new model for 2024. The Cyberster will be a true halo model for MG, returning our brand to the sportscar market where it gained so much success and loyalty in the past.

“That the MG4 EV has also been commended in three different categories shows the breadth of the range, and we are very grateful for MG’s commendation in the ‘Brand of the Year’ award, highlighting our hard work in developing our products and brand over the last 12 months.”
