Honda Civic – Earth Dreams Technology

Featured in:
September 2013

Sales of the bestselling Civic have been boosted by the introduction of the all-new Earth Dreams Technology 1.6 i-DTEC engine.
The introduction of this engine propelled the Civic to the top of many league tables for economy, efficiency and low running costs. It is proving especially popular with business customers with low BIK tax rates for their drivers and highly competitive contract hire rates. However, many retail customers are experiencing the benefits for themselves. With a combined fuel economy of 78.5mpg customers are noticing a real difference in fuel costs and that’s not to mention the cost of road tax, which is zero as the Civic emits only 94g/km of CO2.

Figures tell only half the story with the 1.6 i-DTEC Civic. While running costs are key, the overall driving experience is equally, if not more, important. Rest assured that the Honda engineers have not chosen economy and overall efficiency over customer comfort and enjoyment. The Civic is a refined, comfortable everyday family car. It offers responsive handling and a hugely versatile interior with the largest boot in its class and the added bonus of Honda’s magic seats. If you have yet to drive the 1.6 i-DTEC Civic then we encourage you to do so. You’ll be driving a car with one of the most efficient engines currently produced. A car which offers class-leading levels of refinement, handling and equipment whilst benefiting from some of the lowest running costs in the sector.

The CR-V is the next model in the Honda line-up to receive the new efficient Earth Dreams Technology 1.6 i-DTEC diesel engine. Unveiled at the 2013 Geneva Motor Show the CR-V 1.6 i-DTEC will be available in two-wheel drive with manual transmission featuring CO2 emissions of only 119g/km. This translates into an annual road tax bill of just £30 per year under current legislation. This new derivative will arrive in Vertu Honda dealerships this autumn.
