Description
Hello and welcome to a sunny, summer issue of Good Taste.
We are always delighted to work with so many long established food producers in Lincolnshire. In this issue we are especially pleased to be congratulating the Ward family, who are celebrating the 20th anniversary of the opening of Uncle Henry’s.
Their farming business, based at Grayingham, grows high-quality potatoes among other crops and raises prime pork. Uncle Henry’s Farm Shop has grown to be an attraction and hub for their enterprise. Turn to page 8 and read more about this incredible milestone.
We have recipes from Lincolnshire Chef, Rachel Green. Rachel always captures the essence of the season and her self-saucing lemon and elderflower pudding is perfect for serving to family and friends al fresco. There is also a twist on traditional scones with Rachel’s hot cross Easter version – absolutely delicious with that added spice! Finally, her salmon puttanesca with olive and caper salsa is a delightful lunch or supper dish. You can find these recipes on page 16.
Our features will take you on a culinary journey across Lincolnshire in more ways than one. Head to North East Lincolnshire for marvellous tasting menus and drink experiences, and of course wonderful fish and chips. If you are visiting Lincoln why not join a Hidden Food Tour and learn more about not only some great producers but also the city’s fascinating history from Roman times to the Industrial age.
Lincolnshire Life Magazine, producers of Good Taste Lincolnshire have held a food, drink and hospitality awards competition in the county for nearly thirty years. Taste of Excellence 2026 will launch in May and we need your nominations for this year’s awards in fourteen categories. You can find details on page 32 and keep an eye on our social media for more details.
Enjoy a great spring and summer in Lincolnshire.
