Description

As we look forward to the start of a new year, we would all like to wish our readers a happy and peaceful transition to 2023.

Like many of us, I always find that January is a perfect time to make any changes for the better, whether that’s making a commitment to alter unwanted habits, evaluate your lifestyle, or set a personal objective. New Year’s resolutions might include to eat healthier foods, do more exercise, become more organised or even to laugh more, but whatever goals you set yourself, it’s not always easy to stick to them.

In this issue you will find plenty of wellness tips to help you remain positive, focussed and achieve success in your journey to better health. We share some delicious recipes to celebrate Veganuary (page 46), as well as Dominic Franks’ nourishing and comforting roast tomato and feta winter soup (p.52). Meanwhile Nikki Bawn of Boggle Lane Foods offers her guide to wild plants which can help revive and rejuvenate (p.54).

Kate Chapman caught up with two inspirational young women this month who both set themselves demanding goals… and achieved them. Twenty-three-year-old Olivia Roffe reflects on her mountain climbing fundraising adventure as she tackled Mt Kilimanjaro in memory of her grandfather (p.38), while 22-year-old entrepreneur Millie Goodwin (p.42) has launched a new brand of animal-friendly make-up which has proved much in demand worldwide – keep an eye out for these two names in the future!

Talking of talented people, take a look at the stunning collection of beautiful, winning photographs from the 2022 Lincolnshire Gardens Trust Photographic Competition on p.24. If you would like to enter this year’s LGT Unforgettable Gardens Photo Competition, entry forms can be found on the LGT website at:
www.lincolnshiregardenstrust.org

Finally, don’t forget that an annual subscription to Lincolnshire Life is a welcome gift which keeps on giving throughout the year, as the latest issue arrives through the letterbox. You can order online or by calling our office when we return from our festive break from 3rd January onwards.

Wishing you a very happy New Year, whatever your goals and dreams!
