Description

We have another action-packed issue for you this month. It may have been the holiday season but our feature writers and I have been covering all corners of the county and now that schools and colleges are welcoming students back, we have plenty to keep you entertained.

Kate Chapman interviewed county based actress Elizabeth Rider, who may be a familiar face to readers for her appearances in Line of Duty. Turn to page 66 to read more. On page 30 is my interview with someone whose voice rather than face will be very familiar. Lincs FM presenter John Marshall has just begun his 25th year with the station. That is quite a record (sorry for the pun!) of airtime with one station, so when we met for coffee I wanted to how John got his break into DJing and more about his life in Lincolnshire.

Matt Limb OBE always provides some stunning images for the magazine and his feature about master thatcher Chris Dodson is no exception. This is a heritage craft which has been passed down through three generations of the Dodson family and there will be plenty of work to keep future generations busy too. Read more on page 134.

With the change of season now becoming more noticeable, it is wonderful to welcome the new Autumn fashion collections. There are some dazzling splashes of bright and bold colours which will brighten your wardrobe and any occasion in what I hope is a now your fast filling diary. We celebrate the return of My Lincolnshire Wedding too. This supplement has always been popular with couples looking for the perfect venue, suppliers and outfits and with restrictions on guests now lifted, the ‘big’ day can once again be planned.

Our Diary pages have plenty of events, exhibitions, shows and live music to tempt you, plus we have features on the Lincs Wolds and Coast Churches Festival, the Walk for Parkinson’s and Lincoln Book Festival.

Finally, we are launching Taste of Excellence 2021, Lincolnshire Life’s county Food, Drink and Hospitality Awards in this issue. We need your nominations in 12 categories – so let us know who or what has been your hero or special treat over the past year and which businesses are the shining stars of Lincolnshire. You can vote using the form in this magazine or online at: www.lincolnshirelife.co.uk
