Martin Smith Opticians, the award-winning independent practice in the heart of Lincoln, has had an inspired start to 2018.
At the Optician Awards held on 14th March 2018, Sue Edwards, the Practice Manager, won the prestigious Optician Award for the Dispensing Optician of the Year 2018. Optician Editor, Chris Bennett said, “Winning an Optician Award is one of the highest accolades optical professionals, practices and companies can achieve”, and Sue was described at the awards as being central to all aspects of the business, demonstrating on a daily basis excellent dispensing skills from clinical right through to fashion.
This inspired independent practice owned by Dr Martin Smith BSc DOptom DipTp(IP)Prof Cert Glauc MCOptom won the AOP award for the Optometrist of the Year 2015, the Dispensing Optician of the Year 2018 and the Optical Team were placed as Finalists for the 2018 Team of the Year – they are also the only practice in the UK to hold this triple distinction.
Dr Martin Smith BSc DOptom DipTp(IP) Prof Cert Glauc MCOptom is one of the most highly qualified optometrists in the country and Martin Smith Opticians is the first practice in the UK to offer ground-breaking 3D sight testing. The Paskal 3D sight test is the most technologically advanced sight test and has received great acclaim in Europe. This new form of sight testing is extremely popular with patients and provides the most accurate results. Dr Martin Smith launched the 3D sight test in October 2017 and positive reception of the tests has attracted many new patients to the practice, which is regularly booked up to three weeks ahead.
The practice is completely geared around offering excellent customer service to their clients, and professional and knowledgeable advice. A vastly experienced and qualified team ensure that up-to-date expert advice is always given using the latest technology available, from the sight test through to the measurements taken for your new spectacles. New patients to the practice will experience an in-depth 45-minute consultation comprising the 3D sight test, Zeiss OCT scan and all required tests to ensure the most thorough eye examination available.
