It has been quite a year for Jim Luck: as well as celebrating the twenty-fifth anniversary of his business, he can now add the achievement of the completion of the renovations to the new shoe shop, just along from the main store, at 81 and 83 Eastgate, Louth.
The double-fronted windows flood the shop with light and customers have been delighted with how airy and large the floor space is, now that the work is finished.

Jim’s philosophy of offering the best quality products and exceptional service has guided manager, Vanessa Cook, to secure some outstanding brands for Autumn/Winter 2011, backed up by friendly and knowledgeable customer care for which the company is renowned.

There are leading names for shoes and boots such as Rieker, Josef Seibel and Rohde for which customers return time and again. Fitflop and Dr Martens offer contemporary design, with exceptional comfort. Hunter Wellingtons and EMU boots offer trend-setting style and colourways for town and country wear. Waldlaufer and Ara are known for their wide-fitting and exceptional comfort, with a great look. The barefoot technology offered by MBT has secured many local fans of their trainers, young and not so young.

It is the success of these brands which has encouraged Vanessa to take on four new brands for this season and definitely with the possibility of another harsh Lincolnshire winter in mind.

Camel Active is already a well known brand within the stores and the shoe shop will be stocking their high quality boots with great styling which will appeal across all age ranges. Sorel, a Canadian company, manufactures boots to combat the harsh winters of North America. These boots are designed to be watertight and cope with temperatures which plunge to minus forty degrees.

The German company Romika, as well as making shoes, manufactures high quality boots which are not only lightweight and waterproof but also washable at thirty degrees. The new names are finally joined by Joya, a Swiss maker, specialising in shoes and boots of exceptional quality which, combined with a ‘rocker’ sole unit, it claims will make you feel like you’re floating when you walk.

It would seem that customers are not willing to be caught out again this winter as sales of boots and winter shoes have been brisk. People have loved the new funky styles and with new stock arriving daily Vanessa and her team have been kept busy both unpacking and serving.

The shoe shop team of Vanessa, Vicky, her assistant manager, Helen and Charlotte are supported by staff from the main shop where they stock men’s all leather shoes by Barker and Loakes, as well as more casual products from Camel Active, Sebago and Anatomic & Co. You will also find waterproof leather boots from Dubarry, Wellington boots by Seeland, Aigle and Le Chameau plus the market leading range of RM Williams here. Within the shoe shop, Vanessa is stocking more casual men’s shoe ranges by Josef Seibel, Fitflop, Rieker and Rohde.

Unlike many outlets, Luck of Louth are always happy to try to help customers with special orders and fitting and it is this level of customer care and understanding which has built such a loyal customer base for Jim and his team.
