Devoted to Disney

A new art gallery recently opened in Stamford has been inspired by its owner’s life-long love of Disney animation.
Evie Pearce is a former pupil of Kesteven and Grantham Girls School and after a few years working alongside her parents and sister, Evie has now, in her early twenties, launched Main Street Fine Art.

UK’S ONLY SPECIALIST GALLERY
“We are an entrepreneurial family,” said Evie, “and I have definitely caught the bug. I have adored Walt Disney films and animation since I was small. The idea for Main Street Fine Art began while I was on a trip to Disneyland, Paris. I realised that there wasn’t a gallery in the UK specialising in Disney Fine Art so I made my first approach to them twelve months ago.”

It did not take Disney Fine Art long to respond positively to Evie but since then the priority has been to find suitable office and gallery space, designing and launching a website and relocating all the family businesses to Southview Business Centre.

In this easily accessible and rural setting, Main Street Fine Art has a first floor gallery with ample wall and display space, with natural daylight flooding down from overhead windows.

With over 800 limited editions available at any one time, inspired by the iconic artwork of Disney animated films from the 1930s to present day, one of the biggest challenges for Evie has been choosing her stock and uploading details to her website, where you can browse hundreds of images by your favourite film.

EVOCATIVE AND ICONIC
“I have up to seventy pictures on display and their timeline ranges from Mickey Mouse to Frozen. Many of the vintage graphic styles of Cinderella, Peter Pan, 101 Dalmatians and Lady and the Tramp are my personal favourites but there is a huge following for Elsa and the more contemporary characters. You can, of course, place a bespoke order, which will take from seven days to four weeks to deliver.”

There is a devoted following and audience, not just amongst children but also adults, for these decorative and evocative images.

“All of the pictures are limited editions and are sold with their own unique certificate of authentication. Framed lithographs on paper start from £145 each, while our Giclée collection known as ‘Treasures on Canvas’ (1,500 limited copies) cost £95 each. The ‘Silver Series’ collection (500 limited copies) cost £250 each and our large Disney Fine Art limited edition range cost from £75 up to £1,500. Many of these are hand embellished by the artist and some only have ten copies. My favourite piece of Disney Fine Art is ‘Treasures Untold’. It shows Ariel from the Little Mermaid; this piece is embellished in gold leaf paint.”

There is still time for orders to be fulfilled for Christmas delivery, so if you are looking for a very special gift for under your tree, personal visitors to Main Street Fine Art are welcome to make an appointment by calling 07727 114333 or visit: www.mainstreetfineart.co.uk or email: info@mainstreetfineart.co.uk

The gallery is one minute from the A1/A6121 junction at Stamford.

You can also find the gallery on Amazon UK and Facebook: Main Street Fine Art.
