BEDE Events is delighted to announce that carriage driving will become part of the successful Osberton International Horse Trials this year.
Carriage driving is one of equestrian sport’s fastest and most exciting disciplines. This year a regional event will take place over the weekend of 5th and 6th October, ahead of a full national level competition in 2020.

Stuart Buntine, director of BEDE Events, commented: “We are very excited to announce this expansion at Osberton. I have looked at carriage driving for many years and am thrilled that we can now bring this to the event.”

Bennington Carriages will headline the competition. Based locally in Long Bennington, they are synonymous with the carriage driving world, providing a range of carriages to the sport globally.

Sue Mart, Bennington’s managing director, said: “We are delighted to be supporting and working with the BEDE team to bring this new event to the carriage driving calendar and showcase the sport of carriage driving to a wider audience.”

This year’s event takes place at Osberton estate, between Retford and Worksop, from the 3rd to the 6th of October. Home to the British Young Horse Championships, Osberton is one of the most popular events on the equestrian calendar. The addition of carriage driving is set to further boost the event with the exciting marathon phase taking place on Sunday.

The event offers a great family day out, with over 50 shopping outlets, arena entertainment, a selection of bars and eateries, plus a kids’ zone supporting a selection of activities. Equestrian enthusiasts will see many of the world’s top riders competing on their up and coming champions.
