MG’s first-ever battery electric car continues to receive accolades in the industry.
MG Motor UK is delighted to announce that the first truly affordable, family-friendly electric car, MG ZS EV, has been recognised in the Southern Group of Motoring Writers’ (SGMW) New Year Honours List, being named ‘Dark Horse’ of the Year.
The judging field remarked that they were pleased with the MG ZS EV on first inspection and review. The panel commented: “A real dark horse and game changer. Suddenly there is a very capable and affordable EV contender in a practical and trendy SUV package.”
This latest accolade for MG ZS EV follows on the back of awards recognition for the electric SUV, after it was named Medium EV of the Year at the recent Company Car & Van Awards.
Daniel Gregorious, head of sales and marketing at MG Motor UK, said: “Our electric SUV has only been on sale for a few months and is already beginning to attract a string of worthy accolades. MG ZS EV appeals to many drivers as a practical and versatile family car that comes with all the cost-saving and convenience benefits associated with going electric.”

The SUV achieved record-breaking sales for the brand, with more than 3,000 customers having placed their orders. Currently, thanks to MG’s latest offer, the ZS EV is available from just £22,495, after the Government’s plug-in car grant and the generous £2,500 MG customer saving have been deducted.
