Lady guns and two smoking barrels

Forty-five women from all over the country came together in December at Park Lodge Shooting School, for a day hosted by Lincolnshire Femmes Fatales representative Liane Burton, who had organised a full day of festive clay shooting fun.

The guests were made up of experienced shots and complete novices who’d never held a gun before. All were brought together to enjoy a morning of instruction and coaching, before teaming up for an exciting five-woman flush competition; where they shoot at a flurry of eighty clays being thrown in various directions.

The team also took time out to create a fabulous ‘Mannequin Challenge’ – the latest social media trend, which has had almost 40,000 views so far! You can find it on the Femmes Fatales Facebook page.

Joining the ladies for the day were the team from Italian gunmaker Caesar Guerini, who had brought along a selection of their ‘Syren’ shotgun, a model designed and created exclusively for women – a nod to the recent increase in the number of women taking up the sport of shooting.

Also noting the significant rise in women shooters were the officers from the local Police Firearms Department, who joined the ladies for the day with information and advice relating to the Shotgun Certificate application process and shotgun security.

Along with the shooting, the girls also enjoyed a delicious lunch served up by Park Lodge’s head chef, before the winners from the day were presented with prizes from event sponsors such as MacKenzie & George, Greenio Ltd, Clare Shaw Fine Art and The Indulgent Dog Company.
