The Lincolnshire Horse Trials

The Lincolnshire Horse Trials brought forth a wealth of equestrian talent from novice under 18 riders to multi-Olympic medal winning athletes, and Lincolnshire held its own with a number of home based riders.
The three-day British Eventing-affiliated event saw more than 650 rider combinations who had come from not just the length and breadth of the country, but also further afield, to take part in three stages of Eventing: dressage, showjumping and cross country.

This year’s Cross Country course, expertly designed by Joe Weller, a British Eventing Gold XC Course Builder, tested the skill of the riders and proved that despite being on a relatively flat terrain, it was not as easy as it looked.

Sunday saw some big names arrive including Zara Tindall, who finished just outside the top ten on High Kingdom in the British Eventing Open Intermediate Section P, as Bettina Hoy scooped first place on Seigneur Medicott.

Ludwig Svennerstal flew the flag for Sweden and took first and second in the Riseholme College Intermediate Section R, on Balham Mist and Master Ping respectively. Kitty King showed she has that equestrian talent, like her mother Mary, to take first place in the Bloomfields Horse Boxes Adv-Int Section S.
