Troops even better equipped for all your fuel, motoring and convenience shopping needs

A family business which has been a landmark on the main road at Leadenham since the 1930s is celebrating the completion of a major ten-week redevelopment of its forecourt and showroom.
F Troop & Son, more locally known as Troops of Leadenham, is operated by the third generation of the family, directors Rodney and Caroline Troop and their son Daniel.

“We are delighted to be welcoming back old and new customers,” said Rodney, “and want to thank everyone for their patience while this work was undertaken. We are sure customers will appreciate all the additional services and convenience we can offer.

“One of the most striking features is the new Gulf livery for the forecourt, which also has easier access from the main road, a five metre high canopy and 32 hoses. We are now selling Gulf Endurance super diesel and unleaded for the first time and willl continue our policy of regularly checking our pump prices to be sure we are the go-to site.”

The Spar shop on the forecourt remained open as a vital community resource during the renovation and Caroline has plans to broaden the range of local products further.

“Customers rely on the shop for their staple products, newspapers and magazines and they know the Spar sign offers a wide choice at competitive prices. We also stock local products, such as Odling’s meats, cakes from Ancaster and bread baked in Grantham. I am expanding this to include Ownsworth’s Oils, locally sourced jams and chutneys, freshly made sandwiches and pet foods.”

Troops has been associated with the Vauxhall brand for over 50 years and is an independent Vauxhall approved service franchise. They can carry out all Vauxhall warranty repairs, reactivation of lifetime warranty and supply genuine parts for the car and commercial range. Troops is also an approved Isuzu retailer, selling new and used vehicles, carrying out warranty work and supplying genuine Isuzu parts.

In addition, the vehicle sales department holds an extensive stock of used cars and light commercials. They are also happy to source new and used vehicles of all makes and models.

The Accident and Repair Centre and Workshops continue to be busy with MOTs, servicing and repairs for all makes of vehicles.

Rodney summarised the reason for the recent major investment: “In many areas local forecourts and shops are closing but we are bucking that trend by providing the best in service and branded goods from national and local producers to our community. We are conveniently located on the A607 in the centre of the area fringed by Sleaford, Grantham, Newark and Lincoln. In the near future we shall also have a 24-hour pump operated by credit card. We all look forward to welcoming you to Troops. ”
