Lincoln and District Soroptimist International held their 66th Charter Dinner at The Bentley Hotel in Lincoln on 14th October, sixty-six years since the club was founded on 14th October 1946.

The guest speaker at the dinner was Ruth Andrews, who gave a very interesting and illuminating talk about her role as God in the ‘Lincoln Mystery Plays’, a part she has undertaken for several years.

The Lincoln and District branch of Soroptimist International is part of a worldwide organisation for business and professional women. We lobby and raise awareness of humanitarian issues, supporting such charities as Water Aid. Locally we have supported the Nomad Trust and the Lincoln Women’s Refuge.

Our Joint Presidents, Eileen Potter and Irina Mazar led the celebrations at the Bentley. During their presidential year they have chosen to support STRUT in the Community as their charity and to this end fundraising events have been planned.

Earlier this year the members of the club hosted a visit from our sister club Petrozavodsk in Karelia, Russia.
