It is hard to beat a local, family run business for quality of service and reasonable prices and investment over many years has certainly paid off for the Clow family. They are celebrating their fortieth anniversary as owners of Lyndhurst Garden Centre, Skegness Road, Burgh-le-Marsh.
Basil and Margaret Clow bought a rather run down café and nursery back in 1972 but four decades on centre manager, Stephen Clow along with business partner and brother Andrew Clow, takes great pride in the booming business it is today.

“We have a friendly and loyal team here, who have great knowledge to share with our customers. Many people have been coming to us for years and we always look forward to welcoming them, whether they drop in for a cup of tea or to make a big purchase for their home or garden,” said Stephen.

There are thousands of plants, shrubs, seeds and bulbs to choose from and now is the time to brighten your borders, tubs and planters for summer. There are exciting displays of barbecues, garden furniture and ornaments, as well as leading brands of garden machinery and tools.

If the thought of having to do too much heavy work is preventing you from planning a redesign of your garden, then talk to the Lyndhurst landscaping team.

Stephen explained: “We have displays of paving and features which hopefully will inspire you and Glenn Piercey and his staff are happy to take on the hard work. They will undertake anything from a simple pruning job to fencing, water features, garden designs and makeovers.”

There is a lot to see at Lyndhurst Garden Centre, so why not take a break from browsing and visit either the coffee shop or the ice cream parlour? Stephen’s sister, Susan Maidment and her team cook up fresh and tasty snacks and meals using plenty of locally sourced ingredients. They proudly display their membership of Tastes of Lincolnshire and also serve refreshing teas, coffees and soft drinks in relaxing surroundings. On a hot day, the ice cream parlour offers both indoor and outdoor seating and the chance to cool off.

The fortieth anniversary celebrations have already started and will continue throughout the year. The bright green T-shirts worn by the staff promote a daily giveaway of a £10 gift voucher to each fortieth customer of the day. Be sure to enter the monthly prize draw for the chance to win a £50 voucher, by guessing the correct 1972 prices of five gardening related items. There are many other great offers too on the website www.lyndhurstgardencentre.co.uk when you sign up to the mailing list.

The garden centre can boast of a greater range of plants, garden equipment and products than ever before, but 2012 will not be a year in which the centre rests on its laurels.

“New for this year,” said Stephen, “is our recently opened Farm Shop where customers can buy some of the produce we use ourselves.” There is a wide selection of locally sourced, seasonal vegetables, bagged potatoes and free-range eggs.

Why not call in for a look around and join the many loyal customers who already appreciate the great value and service at Lyndhurst Garden Centre? Time your purchase perfectly and be a lucky winner to get even greater value from your visit!
