29th Charity Golf Day raises £3,000 for RNLI

170 golfers pitched, putted and swung their way to raising £3,000 for the RNLI at chartered accountants Duncan & Toplis’ 29th annual charity golf day.

Teams representing businesses and organisations from the East Midlands and beyond teed off at the firm’s traditional event, which took place over two courses at Belton Woods near Grantham on Friday 5th July.

The winning team overall and Woodside winners were King West with 91 points, who took home the Duncan & Toplis Shield. The winners on the Lakeside were William H Brown with 86 points.

Simon Syddall, director at Duncan & Toplis, said: “We want to thank everyone who took part. Your efforts mean that our chosen charity can continue their valuable work in our communities.”
The leading East Midlands firm of chartered accountants and business advisers has raised more than £90,000 for charitable causes from its golf days over the last 29 years.

Grantham school joins Carol Service in celebration of town’s hospitalPupils from St Mary’s Catholic Voluntary Academy are taking part in the first Carol Service to celebrate the special relationship Grantham and District Hospital has with the town and surrounding communities.The school children will join in the singing of favourite Christmas Carols as well as perform their own set musical piece at the Carol Service on Thursday 11th December at 7pm, in St Wulfram’s church, Grantham.Deputy Head Teacher Olivia Mumford said: “The Carol Service is a fantastic opportunity for our pupils to share the joy of music while showing appreciation for the incredible work done at Grantham and District Hospital. It’s a privilege to support such an important event in our town."The Carol Service has been organised by United Lincolnshire Hospitals Charity, who work closely with staff at Grantham and District Hospital and provides those extras for staff and patients that NHS budgets are unable to fund.
