Christmas Wine Tasting

Doddington Hall Wine Shop held a seasonal tasting in its café featuring wines supplied by Liberty Wines. The eight chosen wines ranged from Rathfinny Blanc de Blancs, an English sparkling Brut ideal for serving as a welcome to your guests, to a bright ruby Jean-Claude Boisset, Bourgogne Pinot Noir ‘Les Ursulines’ 2021, perfect to accompany your Christmas turkey – and a delicious dessert wine, Allegrini, ‘Giovanni Allegrini’ Recioto Classico 2016.

Haxby and William Williams had prepared delicious canapés, themed to flavours of a traditional Christmas lunch. Kurtis prepared Orkney scallops, chicken fat and winter truffle butter; Max served Bronze turkey and pine nut potli; Doddington herb beef carpaccio was a third dish and William completed the canapés with Seven Tails brandy and cinnamon snap, with brown sugar cream, mulled cranberry and Doddington Kitchen Garden apple jam.
