Hospice benefits from ball

Navenby Antiques Centre’s 2013 Charity Ball was held in aid of St Barnabas Hospice and was held for the first-time at Navenby’s new state-of-the-art community facility The Venue@Navenby. A total of 144 guests attended the black tie event and enjoyed canapés and Pimms on arrival, followed by a superb two-course meal, served at each table, by Penny Mardon Caters. Live music was provided by the fabulous Flipside Party Band and the dancefloor was full from beginning to end. The carriages seemed to arrive all too soon! Ruth O’Melia, community liaison manager at the Hospice, addressed the guests after dinner, highlighting the funding requirements for the charity and its main areas of operation. It was clear the charity had strong support from all the guests, with many having very personal experience of dealing with the much-needed services provided by the charity. A raffle took place, which was generously supported by local businesses and raised a very healthy sum for the Hospice. The event was supported by regular customers, the local community and supporters of the Hospice, and was a complete sell-out.
