Auctions are always full of decorative items but preferred styles and designs vary from bidder to bidder. This is one of the attractions for buyers, who will develop their collections based on individual interests and taste. Art Deco and cocktails are perfect partners and will appeal to those with a love of the Jazz Age.

Art Deco is a term used to describe the decorative styles of the 1920s and ’30s. Bold curves with geometric shapes, along with the use of new materials and techniques, are the keynotes. Easily recognisable, it can evoke the passion of the early twentieth century – its wild dance crazes, music and films. The cocktail came alive during this period becoming a staple of nightlife and fashion. Illustrated are items influenced both by Art Deco and cocktails, along with their recent auction prices.
