Walking with Lincolnshire’s farming and rural community

The inaugural Lincolnshire Rural Charities Dinner supporting Lincolnshire Rural Support Network, Lincolnshire Agricultural Society, Lincolnshire Chaplaincy Services and The Lincolnshire and Nottinghamshire Air Ambulance was held at the Epic Centre, Lincolnshire Showground recently.

The guests enjoyed the premiere of a new film ‘Walking with Lincolnshire’s Farming and Rural Community’, a moving depiction of the issues affecting our county’s rural communities and the work of the charities that offer help.

Chairman of Lincolnshire Rural Support Network (LRSN) and of the event organising committee, Meryl Ward, said: “The aim of the event was to showcase the work of the four charities and raise awareness of their work in the county. Lincolnshire is a vibrant and professional farming county, but there is another side to life, as those who live here know.”

The four charities will benefit from the over £25,000 raised at the event to provide help, advice and support for farming and rural families and communities in times of need.

The film was made and produced by Steve White of Primtetime Media, based in Boston.

The gala dinner event was attended by 520 people who were served a four-course meal of local produce devised by Simon Rimmer, chef restaurateur who is a presenter on Channel 4’s Sunday Brunch.
