Soroptimist long service awards
Soroptimist International of Lincoln & District is part of a worldwide service organisation of business and professional women. It supports local and international charities and lobbies for the improvement of the lives of women and girls.
A dinner was held at The Old Palace in the company of presidents, Linda Honey and Joy Langcaster to celebrate the long service of two members, Anne Driver and Jo Walton who had served for twenty-five years as members of the club in Lincoln and contributed to the work of the organisation. They received framed certificates.
The guest speaker was Lincoln’s town crier, Karen Crow, who entertained members with a lively and fascinating talk, in which she demonstrated her considerable skills as a crier and recounted modestly her success in competitions as a town crier.
