Cereals 2017 was a two-day event at Boothby Graffoe. Some may know the location as The Old Rocket Site, Heath Lane.

Thousands of visitors from across the UK came to look at the latest crop varieties, machines, farm technologies, or just to debate and voice their view on issues that affect them, with industry leaders in the conference marquee.

Brexit was high on the list and on the lips of many, with National Farmers’ Union president Meurig Raymond calling on the Government to end Brexit uncertainty. But a large majority of farmers that were asked at the event about future subsidy decline reacted positively, with 78%* saying they have a plan for their business to cope with reduced subsidy after Brexit.

* FROM A FARMERS WEEKLY POLL ON 14TH JUNE AT THE CEREALS EVENT, WHERE 217 PEOPLE VOTED. FROM THE QUESTION “ARE YOU PLANNING FOR A FUTURE WITH REDUCED FARM SUBSIDY AFTER BREXIT?” 78% YES, 22% NO.
