Visit Lincolnshire’s best gardening secret, online or in person.
Leading Lincolnshire grower Bell’s Horticultural is a fourth-generation family business and British success story, which continues to evolve, as it has for the past 60 years.

Garden and plant enthusiasts nationwide can now order their high-quality blooms and gardening essentials online with delivery to their door.

Sitting quietly in the heart of Lincolnshire’s rural growing region, Bell’s will grow more than 60 million plants in their 30 acres of protected production glasshouses in 2020. Most are grown on behalf of leading supermarkets, DIY stores and garden centres, but those in the know have been buying their overstock at their dedicated gardening outlet for many years now.

However, this year sees a new era for the family-run business, with the launch of their online platform, and social media push.

The design and launch of the site has been overseen by Holly Taylor, niece of director Robert Bell, who has come on board to lead the company’s e-commerce and social media operations.

“It’s been really exciting to get such positive feedback from customers further afield. To have customers go out of their way to show appreciation of quality has been a very positive start,” said Holly. “There is a genuine drive right now to support British production, and that couldn’t have come at a better time for us. Plus, delivery straight to your door is such a boon if you cannot visit the outlet in person.”

The garden centre outlet is a haven for gardeners, offering not only the widest range of bedding plant varieties in the county, but also fruit trees, herbs, shrubs and alpines, as well as accessories, reclaimed zinc ware and bird care. The container department is newly stocked with a wonderful choice of planters, troughs and pots.

Join the Bell’s community
Bell Brother’s Nurseries have built a close relationship with its 100-strong workforce and the local community. These relationships also extend digitally, where customers give their feedback, upload pictures and have access to information and plant care tips.

“We’ve found that, in addition to usual plant care advice, people are genuinely interested in the commercial side of the nursery, and how we grow what we do,” said Holly Bell. “Social media gives us a great opportunity to interact with customers from all over the UK and Ireland. Our expert growers and other staff in the nursery will be getting more and more involved in this, as we get better at it!”

Environmentally and family friendly
Bell’s will be continuing their peat reduction programme in 2020, using rPET plant pots, as well as recycling waste plastics wherever possible and heating with renewable energy. Events at Bell’s Gardening Outlet this month include an Easter Chick Hunt and the free Seeding Station to inspire younger green fingers. Both free of charge and super fun!
