The long-awaited reopening of the famous Stokes High Bridge Café has taken place. This much-loved tea and coffee shop has been a fixture of Lincoln’s High Street for centuries and now it’s back with a new look and a refreshed menu.

The 119-year-old family firm, which has run the High Bridge Café since the 1930s, has been busy designing tempting menus and revamping the look and feel of the café in readiness to welcome back customers.

Guests including local dignitaries and press were treated to a ‘sneak peek’, taking in the stylish new décor and enjoying a menu-tasting of some of the recently added meal choices.

Nick Peel is the fourth generation in the Stokes family to run the business. He said: “We’re thrilled to welcome back guests to our High Bridge Café. We’ve run this site for almost a century and in all those years it has never closed, so it’s fantastic to be able to share this special place again with our customers along with the new décor and menu.”
