Sessions Restaurant relaunched

Lincoln College celebrated the relaunch of the Sessions Restaurant with a dinner for specially invited guests. The event coincided with the Silver Jubilee of the restaurant, which opened in 1998 in the historical former Sessions House of the city.

The refurbishment of the interior, with monies from the Towns Fund, reflects the innovations in catering and hospitality over the past decades with areas devoted to mixology and barista training. The Sessions kitchen, where the next generation of county chefs train, has been re-equipped and redesigned to reflect the quality of cuisine and service they will meet in a commercial environment.

The college has been working with Michelin-starred chef James MacKenzie, of the Pipe and Glass at South Dalton near Beverley. James and members of his team prepared the fish course of fillet of wild halibut, and the main course of roast breast of guinea fowl. Level 3 Hospitality students from the college prepared canapés of parkin crisp with chicken liver parfait and a whipped Lincolnshire Poacher tartlet; the intermediate course of sorbet and the dessert titled Sessions Millionaire Torte. Guests retired to the barista café bar and lounge for coffee.

Sessions Restaurant is now open for lunch 12 noon to 2pm, Tuesday to Friday and for themed dinners on Wednesday evenings. Further details can be found at: ww.lincolncollege.ac.uk
