Find a new look at Doddington

Customers will discover a stylish new colour scheme and more spacious layout, bathed in light, showcasing the latest collections at Doddington Country Clothing and Doddington At Home.

Entry to both stores is still through the central doorway but the first striking impression of the refurbishment is the space created by removing the central staircase and installing one till point. The new Farrow & Ball paint scheme bounces light across the displays and brings a feeling of airiness and calm elegance.

Clearer vision
With 13 and 15-year anniversaries of the stores this year, James Birch prompted a review by Retail Manager, Sarah Hall, of this part of the estate’s portfolio of businesses. As joint owners of Doddington Hall, James and Claire Birch have a strong understanding of their visitors and customers.

“I am delighted with the refurbishment,” said Sarah. “The store update delivers a cohesive look across the floor space, reflecting the contemporary country home, living and fashion style that clients so enjoy and recognise across the estate”.

In the entrance a seasonal mood table reflects autumnal colourways with room and table setting suggestions, soft furnishings, giftware and candles. Alongside is a display of new season hero fashion and accessory pieces by Barbour which are now in stock.

Gone are the interior walls which sub-divided the floor space previously and windows now house open display shelving, allowing the light to flood in. It is now possible to stand at the furthest point of the fashion store and see all the way across the interiors store opposite.

Doddington At Home
Walk to the left of the till point and explore more seasonally themed displays for the home created by Doddington at Home manager, Victoria Piperissa and her team. There are deliciously scented candles, melts and atomisers; greeting cards for all occasions; lighting, throws and cushions as well as occasional furniture. Christmas stock is also in store with new season Jellycat amusable soft toys, Tinkalink LED Candles, Emma Bridgwater mugs and Biggie Best vintage and Scandinavian inspired soft furnishings; indulgent Freckleface gift sets – plus many more. There are choices for all budgets and gift ideas for the whole family.

“Themes for autumn and winter are natural, autumn colourways so look for chocolate with highlights of green or tan, with green and gold a strong favourite this Christmas,” said Victoria. “Textures are prominent with boucle, faux fur fabrics and embroidery on furnishings. Team these with natural seagrass, or split cane, limed weave baskets and snuggle down for a season of comfort and warmth.”

You can access the first floor showroom, which will follow the same new colour scheme, from the staircase, where there are more themed room and display sets as well as the Farrow & Ball paint collection. There is also a great collection of children’s books.

Doddington Country Clothing
Walk to the right of the till point and enter the exciting new season collections at Doddington County Clothing. The full extent of the leading brands in store can now be appreciated with new racking along the wall and island displays and shelving for separates, jewellery collections and accessories.

Doddington Country Clothing manager, Carol and her team are delighted with the way that customers can navigate the store and the collections more easily.

“This is such an inspiring retail environment now with clear focus on our leading brands. We still have the technical clothing and footwear ideal for country pursuits and of course the famous Schöffel gilets, enhanced further by great new seasonal collections from Barbour, Chalk, Dubarry, GANT, Le Chameau, 100 Stars, Holebrook, SeaSalt and for the first time Chalk Men and Estella Bartlett jewellery.”

The collections reflect the choice of spend also offered to customers, with options to take you from a country walk to a city escape; casual dinner date to celebration party. Carol’s seasonal colour tips include deep rich shades of burgundy and chocolate alongside core classic neutral tones.

“There is texture featured in fashion choices too with faux fur, shearling and gloriously warm knits. We are here to help you refresh your wardrobe with single pieces or an entirely new look.”

Coming soon
Take the staircase up to the first floor where you will find footwear and the new Schöffel room showcasing the latest collections.

This will also be the home of a new initiative called Doddington Re-loved. If you have previously bought an item of clothing from Doddington County Clothing and it is still in good condition, bring it in store and it will be displayed at an agreed price. If sold, the owner will receive a voucher for the full resold value, to be used against a new purchase in the shop. An idea to sustainably move on and refresh hero brand pieces in your wardrobe.

Great service
In both stores customers will be greeted by the knowledgeable and helpful staff with whom they are already familiar. Ready to go the extra mile and give advice on colour schemes, styling tips and fashion choices, the members of the team can arrange delivery of larger furniture pieces, perhaps suggest a new way to tie a scarf, help carry purchases to your car, or place an order if items are not in stock.

“People really appreciate the service they receive from all the staff at Doddington,” said Sarah, “and we love welcoming our regular customers as well as those who shop here for the first time.”
