The Anne Wilkinson shops are part of a family concern.
Opening in 1968 in Lincoln and 1981 in Retford, they are unique in the collections of clothes they offer customers and their personal service is just what one would expect from a well-established family business that has had fashion in its blood for more than 60 years. The Lincoln shop, with three floors to explore, is on Saltergate, just a stone’s throw from the city’s historic Stonebow and with car parks close by, whilst at Retford the Grove Street shop has its own customer car park.

Managing the Lincoln and Retford shops, Charlotte was brought up in the fashion shadow of her parents and says: “At the Lincoln and Retford shops we specialise very much in special occasion clothes and it is not unusual for the mother of the bride and other relatives to come along to make their choice together. Such names as Condici, John Charles, Ispirato and Ann Balon are just part of the Special Occasion Collection which also includes hats, shoes and accessories to make sure that when you leave the shop we know you will be looking your very best.”

Anne Wilkinson also specialises in clothes for other events, whether you are going to the races, dining out, looking for cruisewear or smart, casual daywear.

The shops stock well-known labels such as Basler, Betty Barclay, Gerry Weber, Joseph Ribkoff, Just White, Olsen, Rabe, Robell and Sahara, to list just a few.

Charlotte adds: “I am proud of our team we have at both of the shops for, not only do they know their stock, they bring with that knowledge a personal service that we hope will give our customers that sense of ease when they shop with us. We also have our in-house expert alteration service which means so much when making sure that everything is just as it should be.”
