Find out how gardening expert Lizzie Richards from The Planting Designer can help you create your perfect outdoor space.

If you’ve always dreamed of having a stunning garden which is low maintenance, wildlife friendly and features plants that will thrive in your soil and conditions, garden design expert Lizzie Richards can help.
Based in Lincolnshire, Lizzie works throughout the county advising and helping clients with designs and planting plans to suit all budgets and styles.

“Focusing predominantly on soft landscaping with an emphasis on choice of plants, I can provide designs, planting plans and advice for any garden space. Guidance on garden landscaping can also be given, to create the best design for you,” explains Lizzie.

“I really want to make having a beautiful garden easy for everyone. If you don’t know your perennials from your evergreens, don’t worry. During your initial consultation I will share with you The Planting Chart, a curated collection of plant images which are low maintenance, have long flowering periods and seasonal interest. The Planting Chart is organised by soil and sunlight, helping you choose plants which are most suited to your garden conditions. The photographs help you to choose the plants that you like the best, without any need to know Latin names!

“Having a beautiful garden doesn’t have to be complicated. Using plants which are happy in your garden, are long flowering or are attractive all year round can make a real difference to your outdoor space.”

Whether creating a child-friendly space, a cottage garden style or contemporary urban space, The Planting Designer will incorporate these three fundamental principles:

  • Plant combinations that thrive in your soil and conditions
  • Low maintenance designs that are attractive all year round
  • Designs that benefit wildlife and attract pollinators
The Planting Designer is fully committed to the idea of “right plant, right place”, as well as the concept of “right plant, right person” and will only suggest plants which are suitable for your lifestyle and your garden.
“The ‘in your garden consultation’ includes a full soil and site analysis, after which we will chat through your aspirations for the garden and you will have a chance to look at The Planting Chart. Consultation prices start at £50.”
