Racing returns to Syston Park
For the third year since its heyday in the 1930s, speed trails returned to Syston Park near Grantham during the August bank holiday weekend.
Spectators enjoyed the blazing sunshine more than some of the classic owners, with the heat proving a challenge to a few of the pre-1939 motorcycles and vehicles. The unique spirit of the interwar years was recreated with marshals in brown coats, an ice boy on a bicycle selling cooling lollies and the mess tent refreshments.
